[glow=red,2,300][/glow]Hey Tim, I am a new listener to Spooky Southcoast. I really enjoy the show. I have all the podcasts on my ipod & I listen to them everyday. Will you guys ever investigate haunted houses in Canada? I live in a little town called Grimsby Ontario.

Oh it's sooo difficult to get a bumper sticker! I think you have to hike over Mt Everest, swim the English Channel, leap the Grand Canyon, wrestle a 'gator.........
Ok...ok, just kidding, couldn't help myself. All you have to do is either call in and ask the guys for a bumper sticker during a live show, or email one of them with the email addresses listed on the main spooky page, and bingo, you'll get one in the mail!! If you have trouble getting through to their emails, let me know on here, I'll find a way to locate them for you, or send one myself, I might still have a spare kicking around if I look! Sometimes their email boxes are full on the site, I know, they must get a lot of spooky mail!

No problem dale! I write at home, so I have a little more time than the guys do and I try to help out when I can! Not that I don't sometimes get swamped under evidence review, deadlines and teenage son stuff, but I'm around more during the day than the guys are! Let me know how you make out, I've got to look around for the bumper stickers I had, forgot where I put them, LOL! Either that or I'll have to go crash the studio and bug the guys, muwahahahahaha!!!

[glow=red,2,300]I understand that the crew have day jobs, so getting a hold of them will take a while. Are you a paranormal investigator aneaglesangel? I've been interested in doing that lately. Have you seen an apparition or a shadow person? Whats the scariest thing you have experienced in the field?
I've heard unexplained things in my apartment. I've sat at this computer and felt something tap me on the head or back and I've turned around and there was nothing there. One time my wife woke up and saw what she thought was me walking down the hall to the bathroom. She called out to me asking if I walked down the hall and I said that I was in the kitchen making breakfast. What do you think? Is there a ghost in my apartment? [/glow]

Yes, I am a paranormal investigator, I'm the founder of my team, Whaling City Ghosts, and love doing it. I've seen many apparitions in my lifetime, but I'd have to say the scariest thing I've had to witness was the attachment of a negative entity that I had since childhood that lasted for 22 years.
What's going on in your apartment does sound like you may have a haunting going on. Have you ever looked into the history of the building? Or thought of running your own mini investigation in your home? I'd love to hear more about your experiences if you'd like to share them!!

I know that the building is around 40 years old and has had a lot of tenants live here. The old apartment my wife lived in before she moved to the apartment we live in now had someone die in it. I've seen things out of the corner of my eye and heard strange noises at night like bangs. Plus I've watched my cat staring at something and seen her watch it move around.
Last summer I was walking down the hall to the bathroom and I felt a cold chill on my left arm when it was summer and 30 degrees celcius. I also saw a orange tabby run by the kitchen when I was making breakfast for my wife, we have a grey tabby cat. Should I try to do EVP's here or leave well enough alone?

That's a tough one. I see nothing wrong with running a little investigation to see if you capture anything. It can help to cure your curiosity and set your mind at ease. I don't recommend doing to often, for it can be addictive. I have a young kid, in his twenties that got addicted to doing audio, when I found out how often he was doing this, I had to become concerned and ask him to stop doing it. He ignored my concern and continued, telling me of his "little girl" spirit who needed his help. After a time she began demanding help, even threatening him that she would take his soul. I became involved and took the audio from him. I can not find anything that remotely sounds like a little girl, and suspect a negative entity involvement. This boy is on the cusp of being a man, and at a vulnerable time in his life. What I have is a male voice making threats, saying "f you" in a scarface sort of way, and saying he's "coming to get the sheep" but no little girl. I can't help but wonder, what happened to this audio, where did the little girl singing Mary had a Little Lamb go? I don't know, but I do know this, his addiction to audio led him into trouble.
I admit, I do run a mini investigation in my home once in a while. It is only if I'm having activity out of the ordinary or I sense a new, or negative entity around my home. Then I will chance running an investigation in my home. I don't like to stir things up too much here, but I do already know that I have the occasional negative entity involvement.
But to me, if you set up carefully, use protections you believe in, and do not get addicted to doing audio recording, and do this as a method of finding whether there may be a haunting in your house, then I see no harm in it. You may have to do a few sessions to be able to get anything, so space them at different times of the month, or try to do them when you've noticed other activities going on. Start out with some short sessions and get the hang of editing the audio afterward.
If you'd like to do this, think of what types of equipment you have at hand, such as cameras, recorders, etc and think of how and where you think you'd get the best results, and let us know. Maybe start a thread in here. That way we can help to coach you on how to get started.
Another thing to think about is that it can be quite disquieting to hear these voices in your home. You have to be prepared for that. It's one thing to go out in the field and record voices but it's quite another to hear them and place them in your living space. Even for me, with years of knowing I lived with spirits and a few unsavory spooks it was a revelation and a bit unsettling to hear those voices in my home. Many times when I play the recordings I've gotten for homeowners, I can practically see their hair rise off their heads when I play them the audio I recorded. So that's something else to think about, are you ready to hear it?
All in all, I don't think it's a bad idea. Read up, follow the rules of safe ghost hunting, don't let it become addictive, use it as a tool, not a toy, and you may just find what you're looking for. If you feel comfortable enough to try it on your own, I see no harm in it. Many of the best investigators out there had to start out somewhere, maybe you'll be the next one!!! Good luck and any time you need help, or advice, I'm always here for you!!

[glow=red,2,300]To be honest I'm a little scared of doing EVP's. Does that mean I'm a wimp? I'm not ready to know for sure if theyre is a ghost here. I don't think I'll be able to handle hearing a spirit voice on the recorder. Plus I don't want to scare the sh*t out of my wife I get an evp.
In my wife's old apartment she's heard a voice twice, once about a month after she moved in she heard her name called. She moved in with her mother after the death of her father in 2002. She thought it was her mom calling her when my wife was asleep. The second time was when she was taking a nap on the couch in the living room, she heard a voice say "hey you" that woke her up.
I'm wondering if it's the spirit of her dad checking up on his family. A week after her dad's memorial service she was at work, she'd notice odd things happening like loaves of bread falling off the shelf. The kept happening until she said "dad stop it" and it stopped.
One thing I do remember that was odd but cool was at our wedding 3 years ago she got a sunburn in the shape of a heart on her chest. At the time she was wearing a necklace with a small vial of her dad's ashes in it (he was cremated). Do you think that the things happening here could be her dad looking in and making sure that my wife & her mom (who lives with us) are ok?[/glow]

I have to admit, one of the things I get the biggest reaction out of from clients, is EVP's. They can be downright creepy, and very hard to listen to especially when they're in your own home. I've seen people totally freak out on audio that I felt was totally tame and didn't phase me in the least, yet, it made the client need to leave the room, compose themselves, and then come back into the room. If audio is hard for you, this may not be something you want to attempt. It is that hard. So hugs, nope, don't think you're a wimp, you're just among the normal people. Not like the rest of us freaks who chase things around that aren't exactly living, LOL!
It could very well be her dad. It's always hard to say, but they say that the simplest explanation is often the correct one, so maybe in this case it is true. Seems to be a ton of coincidences in this case. They say that our loved ones do check in on us from time to time.
If curiosity ends up to be too much for you, maybe try having a team come in. It can be much less scary to have an objective team come in and make everything simpler and much less frightening for you. But in the end, it's what you and your family are comfortable with and how you feel matters the most. So whatever you decide in the end, we all support you! Hmm, maybe call in next time the guys have one of the psychic mediums on and see if they can help you??

[glow=red,2,300]Whatever is here I do not feel uncomfortable in the least. I have never heard loud knocks or rapping's on the walls or seen an apparition. The one thing that does puzzle me is that I have a bottle of painkillers (I have bad arthritis) and they have disappeared and turned up somewhere else in my apartment.
I have never played with a Ouija board because they scare me about what could possibly come through. I knew someone I went to school with and he tried conjuring once with bad results. He started hearing knocks and disembodied voices in his house, not to mention seeing ghosts when looking in the mirror.
I went to his house once and I was in the bathroom and I saw a ghost in the mirror and it looked like it was behind me. It scared the hell out of me and I haven't been back to his house since. It turned out that he conjured a demon and they had to get a priest to bless the house. He tried to get me to do the same thing, needless to say I didn't do it because it's a stupid thing to do.
He had to go to counseling because it freaked him out badly, he's still in counseling. His little sister woke up one night to see a head floating above her head and it scared her really badly. I know better than to mess with that stuff, I have the ultimate respect for the supernatural because it can hurt you if your not careful.[/glow]
