Hi Matt was wondering what you think of Anawan Rock. Its location and also its dimensions associated with the area of forest that it is located.

LOL! Well, I'd say it's one of his favorite places! I do have to say, madame and I enjoyed our time there last night. If you'd like a run down of the history about it, I wouldn't mind writing a bit about it. I'd say we made a neetomp or two last night, the madame and I!!

I do know some of the history of the Rock. Not all of it, most of it . I find it a peaceful place. You can sit on top of the rock and look out into the night sky. Coming from the wooded side of the rock it stands out like a cliff. Nice place it sort of gives a person an uplift. Place is so peaceful that I can imagine Anawan protecting it, could be one of the reasons he decided to surrender to protect that rock and the area associated with it. Just wondering what Matt thinks of the place.

Well Fritz, The rock is about 30 feet high and about 60 to 70 foot round viewed from the road side. I have always liked the rock, but that has to do with being there as a teenager with whatever girlfriend I had at the time. (Great place to make out back then) Hope that answers your question Fritz. Matt

Why thank you Lildeb. good things in the works; in the words of the great american poet, James Douglas Morrison, "lets get it together one more time".

I did have a great time! These Native American spirits really interest me! I've learned alot about the King Phillip's War that they never taught us about in school. I really think it's an important part of our history, and if we don't pay attention to the past, we can't learn to brighten our future. I think it was a terrible blunder on our part to destroy such a rich culture. The ghosts that haunt the woods around the rock are my brothers, and I hope they find peace! I think it's very sad that most of our Natives here were killed. What the white man's diseases and small pox didn't do, the war finished. I often wonder what this country would be if we hadn't destroyed most of its native peoples.
I would like to say something for the partner I was paired up with for the night! She rocks!!! During our time at the pond at Stonehill College, the pond was making some very spooky noises, LOL! Sort of sounded like demon groans if you ask me! It really gave you the creeps, and most people I know would have run to their car and left me there! My brave and very professional partner stood her ground! Neither one of us liked the sound, and we did figure it was the ice shifting and expanding, but it was still a very creepy noise! I really must say, hats off to mmecurie, the brave!! Rock on pardner!!

Yes it is all there in the past. Everything! which is very seldom really looked at by society in general. I guess its what ever keeps us interested or happy or confused in the present which prevents the past from showing its truth.
