In November of 1977 in the U.K., was a message that interrupted the local news show. This message is about 6 min. long and is thought to be a hoax, but to this day no one has been able to say how it was done. The tower was not broken into, and nobody in the TV station was ever charged with being involved. The British gov. was unable to locate the source of the transmission or any of the people (if it was people) responsible for its content. Pirate radio was big in the 70's, but this was audio on a TV frequency, and that is much harder to do. The power needed to over ride a TV signal would be a little out of the reach of the backyard pirate radio operators of that day. The equipment needed to broadcast a TV signal on the same frequency would be even more difficult to come by, but not imposable though the cost would be very high. The content of the message is still relevant to this day, even more so now as compared to back then. I will let you make up your own mind as to what you think about it being real or not. What is important is the message regardless who sent it. Hope you enjoy it. I will post the mp3 link and the the transcript link. www.ufoshow.org/interviews.html (transcript) www.ufoshow.org/vrillon.mp3 (audio file)

Also it is intersting that it wasn't found out the source. I do think if beings would do this they would probably do it on a much larger scale so all of us could have heard it. Now of course I'm trying to think like humans and maybe their locis is quite different then ours.

OK, now that is freaky!! I don't think it could be that easy to cut into television broadcasts, though it's something I don't know much about. I can't get over this one!! I wonder if it's real!!! Very true message even if it's not real!!! Thanks for sharing, I never, ever heard of this!!!

Okay, that voice does sound kinda freaky. Real? I do not know. As far as the message goes; I have heard that one a lot over the years. It is important, but nothing that we (as a race) do not already know.
Granted people have not followed this message yet. But how can you expect the human race, that is given the warning, 'smoking is bad for YOU don't do it' to worry about a warning that says, 'nuclear power is bad for EVERYONE don't do it'?
The link was cool though, thanks.

I wonder if maybe the message was for one person some one that was to hear the message and grow up to do some thing big and change the course of humanity the would be about 35-40 years old (i know it was 29 years ago but no one would remember that at like 2) that could explain the localization of the message. i think if every air wave in the world was hijacked it just mite star some kind of mass panic. just look at what H.G Wells broadcast of war of the worlds did. Could you imagine a full on every Chanel and radio station broadcasting on message people would be too freaked to hear what was being said.

Old-school hack? Like maybe TelStar? First thing I thought of was the North Sea pirate radio ships - except maybe at a higher level - like military -nerd hackery.
Take my husband the computer nerd, plus his best friend, the staff sergeant in military intelligence, possibly throw in my brother in law whose military career involved nuclear subs and engineering and now works for a gov. contractor, several episodes of Star Trek and unnamed quantities of alcohol and I could see the birth of the Ashtar Galactic Command with credible military technologic expertise to do the hacks.
Transpose that back into the mid-/late- 70's and they would probably still have the technology clearances and know-how that would enable a hack of that magnitude. But if it is a hack, I would definitely say some sort of military or ex-mil involvement - they'd be the only ones with the equipment that could do it, I think.
Don't forget about all the wierd little places the "Allies" have/had military installations/Cold War "listening posts" either - Iceland, which used to have a USAF installation (I don't know whether or not it still does), would be in a decent position geographically to hijack UK broadcasts - one of my uncles was stationed there in the early to mid 70's - cold as heck, but better than being stationed in Vietnam.
He said the main things they used to do there were 1) drink and 2) after drinking, go out in front of ACTIVE radar dishes to "warm up", then 3) go back and drink.
If they're trans-Galactic, then why would they have to zap out of our plane of existence? We can't even reliably stick orbital gliders around our planet or on our single moon. We name our closest celestial objects what they are - the Moon, the Sun/Sol - it's like naming your dog "Dog". Our galactic neighbors probably do make fun of us.
The message itself, in the geopolitical context, is prophetic - Three Mile Island happened two years later. More nations are striving to join the "nuclear club" come hell or high water to "prove" their sovereignty to everyone else. One of the greatest potential terrorist threats anyone could face is the "dirty bomb" scenario.
Is any of this likely to change unless and until something drastic happens? - probably not - humankind isn't really swift on that kind of uptake.
But boy, would I love to be proven wrong on that one AND get to meet aliens AND remember it all AND not have any type of probing or implanting, thank you very much, unless we are talking about painless, harmless, full-body liposuction, which then would be fine.
