I had a really hard time when I was in college. My parents divorced for one and I overall had some really bad times. Let's just say that I probably wouldn't be here today if it weren't for my best friend. Ive always heard that people tend to experience things when they are going through bad stuff (maybe it's the energy that's being put off - I don't know) and maybe it's true. OK, so I've never told anyone this story before so here goes nothing.
A little back story: I was in Alabama going to college. This was around 1999 - 2001. I was in my first ever apartment. It was a townhouse with my bedroom being upstairs. The bathroom was inside my bedroom. No one (that I know of) had passed away in in it or anything but I would sometimes feel "a presence". I never felt scared (well maybe a little apprehensive when I first encountered it); I thought that it was rather comforting at times. One of my good friends told me once that he could "see" spirits (I forget the exact wording he used) so once when he was over at my place hanging out, I told him that I "felt it", gave him the area that I was feeling the presence from and he told me "Yeah there's a man there." The funny thing is, I always felt that the presence was a man. There are several things that happened to me, but this story is the freakiest thing that ever happened to me there.
One day I was upstairs in my bathroom washing my face at the bathroom sink. I have 2 pomeranians and they are barkers. They bark at EVERYTHING. Anyway, I heard them start barking in a way that I had never heard before. And shortly after they started barking, I had this feeling that something/somebody was coming up the stairs. Given the forum that I'm writing this in, I don't think that I have to explain how unsettling this felt. I suppose whatever was coming up the stairs made it up because then I had the feeling that had I straightened up and looked into the mirror, I'd see someone standing behind me. Needless to say, I was a big chicken and didn't look. About 5 seconds after, I felt something bump into my left hip. The way my bathroom was designed, when you first walked in, you'd be facing the sink and mirror, then if you turned to your left, there was another little room where the toilet and the bathtub was. It was almost like whatever was there was needing the bathroom or something.
When I finally graduated college and was leaving for Florida, I decided to walk through the apartment to make sure that I wasn't forgetting anything. I wanted to go by myself so that I could take a last look around and say goodbye. As I was leaving my bedroom, I saw a figure of someone standing in the doorway of the bathroom leaning against the frame. It felt like whoever it was wanted to say goodbye too.
I had a couple of more experiences when I moved here to Florida, I'll write about those later. I hope whomever read my story enjoyed it and thought it was interesting.
