Just thought that I'd comment on the recent show that discussed sleep paralysis.
I really enjoyed the show and thought that some of the accounts that were discussed really chilling.
I had an episode of sleep paralysis that happened to me some years ago though I didn't connect it to anything paranormal I was totally paralyzed and aware of my situation . If it was a malevolent spirit it must of tired of my ignorance I guess I'm not that sensitive.
I must say that I dont subscribe to the view that your brain naturally paralyses you in sleep so that you dont act out your dreams as I know for one that I would be aware of it.
I toss and turn and all sorts whilst dreaming. Is it scientific fact that your brain naturally paralysis you in sleep so that you dont act out your dreams or is it theory ?
Any how I had a far scarier experience than sleep paralysis. I was once in the Sleep Walking state of being whilst in a one man tent.
That was very freaky and very claustrophobic.
I was asleep in a tent and I woke up in my sleep walking state and was unsuccessfully trying to work out how to unfasten the zipper on the tent. My sleep addled brain couldn't make sense of it and I could feel myself beginning to panic.
Then something weird happened I actually reassured myself telling myself to calm down relax and go to sleep.
I think I have a strong sense of self preservation.
Anyhow I was just wondering if there was a link to the soul smack guys as i wouldnt mind seeing their DVD.
Keep the shows coming an Avid listener.

Welcome aboard Redd! I don't believe I missed a show on this! Argh! Darn busy schedule of mine, I'm going to have go listen to the podcast. I don't think I've ever read anything about our being paralyzed during sleep to keep us from acting out our dreams, and can say for sure that I do act out my dreams. I've even punched a couple unfortunate boyfriends while dreaming. I've had karate training, they were very sorry they ever slept with me, LOL! But kidding aside, if I remember right there is a phase of sleep in which you may be paralyzed, and it is natural.
Now for a time, I was very interested in sleep paralysis. I was hoping that it was the answer to some very negative experiences that I had. More research into it made me have to discount it, and also because other people had experiences similar to mine in my homes, and other activity that was going on and even affecting my children. But sleep paralysis can be very scary for a person who wakes up to it, especially if they're in a hypnogogic state at this time. Many times these events are the cause of people believing they have had paranormal activity when it has not occurred. But, I also believe that for some there is real paranormal activity going on and it may or may not have anything to do with sleep paralysis. I believe people who have activity on a regular basis may have some physiological differences that make them a beacon for the paranormal. When I was attacked by a negative entity, it was sort of like paralysis, because I couldn't get myself free, and I was so petrified that sometimes I'd be frozen in fear, but most times I could move, and would fight back trying to get free with every ounce of strength in my body. Now I could believe I imagined all that in the throes of sleep paralysis, if not for two other people having the same exact experience (they were boyfriends of mine, sleeping over), and if not for the couple of instances when I was actually thrown.
I've found that many of the people who believe they are also having paranormal activity or inhuman attacks during these episodes still call them sleep paralysis. I'm not sure if that term is correct. I think there should be a category for this type of encounter. These things seem to feed on fear, and seem to be able to interact with the person while asleep, through dreams. Though I do believe it's possible for a person to suffer sleep paralysis and also have these episodes with the paranormal, I don't think they are the same and differ. Either way, I really feel as if more research needs to be done in this part of the field and I hope when my book is finished it will help that happen.
About your sleep walking....that can be dangerous! How often does it happen? Maybe you should look into a sleep study and see if you can prevent it before you go camping on the edge of the Grand Canyon and figure out how to work the zipper in your sleep!!!

I dont sleep walk very often but when I do I always get confused.
I remember once sleepwalking once when staying at my grandmothers for the night. I went down stairs in the middle of the night and for some reason I convinced myself that the door was behind the TV when infact it wasnt a door but a window.
I dont recall sleepwalking at all within the last 10 years.
Anyhow check out the latest show that discusses sleep paralysis as it is really good !

Was it the newest episode? Every time I try to sit down and listen to it I get interrupted so I haven't gotten past the first few minutes yet. Argh! School vacation is almost over...school vacation is almost over!
