Stretching from Gloucester, Cape Cod and Nova Scotia lies the cold water version of the Bermuda Triangle: The Gloucester Triangle. It has been the site of mysterious disappearances as recent as 1978. Ships have vanished here with little or no evidence or wreckage to be found, among them, an oil tanker named The great Zenith. The ship carried 8.2 million gallons of oil, which would have destroyed the coasts and all marine life. Yet none of this oil was found. Only a few life jackets were recovered after a five day search. Gloucester also has its haunts, The Phantom Fishermen. It is said they fell victim to a hurricane in 1870.
This is the second odd Triangle in Massachusetts I know of. Could there be a third possibly? A Massachusetts Triangle, a Triangle of Triangles?
Credit must be given to Susan Smitten and her book "Ghost Stories of New England", where I first learned of this triangle.

Wow! Pretty interesting! Are you from Mass yourself, or just interested in all the strange stories we have to offer?

I am from MA and have lived there most of my life. I have recently moved to TN for a change...Of course I'm interested in the MA strangeness. Speaking of such, I really need to get Jeff Belangers new book.

We highly recommend it. It' s a great read, and a great reference guide for a tour of "Weird Massachusetts." Think of all the places you could check out that you never knew existed! And, as always, if you are going to buy any of our guests' books, can you do us a favor and purchase them through our Amazon store? It helps keep Spooky Southcoast going... astore.amazon.com/spooksouth-20/detail/140275437X/002-6591182-4898449

I will purchase it from your store once I reload my paypal in a few weeks. And about the annual Bridgewater Triangle shows, are these discontinued?

Hmm, having a brain fart right now, but didn't they do a Bridgewater Triangle show this year?
