The problem with writing messages instead of speaking back and forth, is that you can not tell the tone of the message; it can only be guessed. People will put whatever emotion they want into the words that they read. And if something is said that they do not agree with, especially if it has to do with a personal thing, the comment is almost always seen with a negative tone. I take paranormal research very seriously, and my comments regarding that are hardly ever sugar coated, that is the way I am. Also have a lot of fun with it – would not be doing it if it was not fun. Kind of like when I was a Karate instructor; it was taken very seriously because what was being taught was potentially dangerous (like ghosthunting), but at the same time we had fun. There is a time for seriousness and a time for fun; and it is good to have a combination of both. True, we do learn more by keeping an open mind. We also learn more when we are challenged to look at our evidence in a different way; and those who get defensive when their evidence is questioned are probably not being all that open minded. As far as ‘constructive criticism’ goes, it can be as different as the people that give it, and not everyone likes getting it whether it is sugar coated or not. Well, we all have something to say, and this is a good place to do it whether it is comment or criticism. Just take is all with a grain of salt and agree to disagree if need be – it’s all good. So, without beating this dead horse any further, we can put this to rest or transfer it to its own thread. Hey, anyone want to watch some paint dry? And now to get back on topic – Don’t you just love the stove in the Lizzie Borden house?

Yes, I looove that stove, it's soo awesome! We had a blast investigating there, and I'd have to say the place does have activity and was VERY active while the Spooky Crew, my team Whaling City Ghosts, and The Shadowlands Investigators were there doing a television filming. The Shadowlands will be airing their show this summer, so I can't share the evidence with you guys until after our episode airs this summer. As soon as I have broadcast information for everyone, I'll share it with you guys, but until then, I can say, it was a great experience, and it was an honor to work with these great professionals! So mum's the word for now, but as soon as the show airs, you guys can see what I mean.

Yeah, we had something happen there when we went with Rosemary Ellen Guiley, We also caught someone giving a false story about the place.
One person in our group had been there a few months before and was told a story. When they mentioned the story to our tour guide, she said that the story was not true, and asked who told it. Our group member described and named the woman; she still worked there. The woman who told the story came into the room and was asked about it. Boy, was she rattled after that. Every time she walked by us, she kept saying, "I never said any such thing". (Thou dost protest too much).

That's a shame when people lie. I guess they want to feel important for a moment. It makes our job much more difficult when we have to wade through BS to get to the truth. At least you guys got to the truth without too much difficulty, for in some cases, that can be pretty hard! I do have to say though, it was fun investigating Lizzy's and I can hardly wait until I can actually talk about it. You know me, I love talking about the paranormal, so it's been pretty hard to keep quiet LOL! At least we can speak amongst ourselves, or I'd have to invest in LOTS of superglue, LOLOL!!
You guys planning on going back, or is the Cape keeping you pretty busy?

CAIPRS has no plans on going back there that I know of; and personally, I would not take the time to go back. Only reason we went was because Rosemary was doing research for a book and we brought her to some local 'haunts' and that was one of them.
It is an interesting old house, but it has been investigated to death (no pun intended). I went on the tour, got to see where the murders took place, went to the family graves, took my pictures. Ready to move onto more interesting places.
And just wondering..............sshevie, are you still out there? Any more comments? >^o.o^<

Actually, I was hoping there would be no more comments here, unless it was to discuss paranormal events. I was also hoping that comments made would help bring back the atmosphere here. This is a place to discuss and learn together to help bring understanding and enlightenment to the field. I had noticed a whole change in tone and liked it. I hope we can keep the peace, and I also hope we can all keep a good tone so everyone will feel comfortable enough to post.
I often return to spots where there is activity. It never hurts to be able to collect evidence. If you find a good place, where evidence can be collected easily, then it's good for the field to do it. I know many groups who repeatedly return to the same sites in hopes that they will keep gathering evidence from the spots. Briging evidence into the light and out into the public will help this field move forward.

Well, being that this is a 'non-paranormal' thread, it's all good. And all discussion is good, both positive and negative.
Opinions are just that, opinions - if we all had the same opinions would not make for much conversation. Gets boring when everyone goes along and agrees with everything, discussing pros and cons of things is a good way of bringing understanding and enlightenment to the field.
Throwing in an opposing comment or view gets people thinking and communicating and questioning themselves and what they believe. It is the whole keeping an open mind thing.
Personally, I would not mind staying at the Borden house, just for fun; but it is just so expensive.

I"m not saying everyone has to agree, but it's nice to have a good tone and be fair about others' opinions. This isn't a fighting place, it's a fun, sharing place.
Yeah, Lizzy's sure is expensive to stay in. It's not a place a single mom could stay in very often, that's for sure. I think for the public, who don't hunt regularly like a ghost investigator does, would find it a great chance to experience the paranormal, so it's probably worth it for them. But then again, some of the nicer hotels are pretty pricey too!

Fighting, where? I saw a discussion not fighting. Well, just like a questionable photograph - we all see something different; and that's not always a bad thing. Can we put this thing to bed now? ******************************************************************************************************************************************** Sooooooooo, when was that house opened to tours? >^o.o^<

No, it wasn't fighting....yet, but I've seen it happen on message boards plenty of times, LOL! If someone is driven to say something negative, they usually have some negative feeling related to somethig going on with the board. I've always promoted speaking our minds, and hell, I often enough go on tangents with ideas and try to provoke peoples' thoughts to help me reason these ideas out. I don't mind if people have differing views, sometimes looking at other sides of the coin helps to create a full picture in the mind. But I will never, ever promote any negative feelings between members, I've seen too often in my stint with message board mod/admin'ing that it never serves a positive outcome. And, mind you, there are people out there who do nothing but find message boards and go just to cause trouble, luckily, we haven't seen any of that. But knowing sshevie the way I do, I know he was feeling uncomfortable or angry about something, a tone here, atmosphere, I don't know, I'd have to ask him, but I know he wouldn't make snide remarks unless compelled to do so.
So by not provoking any negativity, I hope to strive and reach for the positive things that do happen here. I want everyone to feel comfortable enough to express their views in this field, hell, I get great ideas from the input and output that goes on with all the message boards I work, or own. But I also know that for some, this isn't just a steady way to discuss the paranormal. For some it is a new and frightening experience, and they want help, anonymous help, in a place they feel comfortable in speaking out. I want spooky's board to always be a place people can do that. To me, there are always going to be people out there, who are afraid for their own reasons to speak out about it. If I see something that looks negative between two people I know, and I think it may end up to be negative, for the good of the site, I will try to intervene. I know both of your minds, and that you both have much knowledge to share with us in a positive way, I'm going to try to keep it that way. Message boards are my means to pick at people's brains and discover new and intersting viewpoints, and has greatly increased my knowledge on all things in general, LOL! But all the knowledge the two of you have is there to be shared with us, so let's let it go, if it's ok, yes, I'd like to be put to bed now, LOL! Tuck me in with all my books I'm reading right now, and I'm all set!
Hmm, I'm not sure if I asked them how long they've been doing the tours. They seem to get quite a bit of business on them, there were quite a few people the day mmecurie and I went. If one of the guys does't know, I'll find out next time I talk to LeeAnn for ya!
This is going to kill me, LOL, I am using lots of superglue right now, but I have some ideas about that house that someday soon, I'll be able to share with you all!!

"But knowing sshevie the way I do, I know he was feeling uncomfortable or angry about something, a tone here, atmosphere, I don't know, I'd have to ask him, but I know he wouldn't make snide remarks unless compelled to do so."And sarcastic it was, but that is okay - watching paint dry is a good meditation technique, and with how the paint dries you might even see a face, in the paint, looking back at you! Funny that sshevie came in and made such comments, and never came back. If this person has knowledge to share, I would like to hear it. >^o.o^<
