HI all Plymouth plantation is great been there on vacation, another great place for historical reenactments is Salem Ma. I took my honeymoon there in July they have people all over town doing period reenactments, and they walk down the middle of main rd. announcing while ringing a bell the witch trials date for the public to attend. They did a great job with it, the actors all over town were great.. I guess the hole month of October they have allot more happening, I'll be taking a future trip there I need to go back to the Raven anyway (a wiccan gift shop) It's great! Clara Yeah, ;DSalem is an interesting place and can be fun. But, I really do not like going up there so much. Like any other tourist trap, it is so commercialized with wanna-be Witches and run of the mill Wiccan gift shops. Especially in October! Oh my goodness, they take the religion and turn it into a circus up there for tourist money. A shame that this too has fallen to the all mighty dollar I like going there for the historical value more than the "Wiccan Experience". (Oh yeah, moved the Salem topic over to a new thread so things would stay on topic.) >^o.o^<

sorry deb didn't mean to go off topic, I just read the Plymouth plantation reenactments comments and I know that in Mass there is another place that does that too in Salem thats all I was trying to say.. Wasn't meaning to start a topic on it.... But whereas one is started I might as well add the Raven is a nice gift shop off the beaten path, but it stands out well. Its where I bought my old Tarot cards etc... I haven't been in October but had friends that said it was alot of fun and worth the trip. when I went it was in July. I had a great time, and Yea some of the shop owners looked at me weird too but I just assumed they sensed my abilities.. or they don't see to many dark haired, green eyed people LOL. Who knows, some people are strange and I just chalk it up to that. Anyway it is a great historical learning experience especially the trolley tours, which explains much of the fishing and trading industry from Salem and a quick tour of the underground tunnels. Russian churches and some of the supposed witch history that happened there, It isn't all wiccan. It is overly commercialized with pictures of witches all over town on all the newspapers etc... I'll agree with that, but still allot of fun and a historical learning experience. It was very educational and they have people dressed in period clothing and they reenact the history that happened there. It is unfortunate but it did happen and its part of history and was a great learning experience. Besides they do explain how the girls were not real witches they explain how back in those days if you were not well liked, or if you did something out of the ordinary , lied etc... the masses would call it witchcraft. They explain all this either in the Salem witch museum or the jail cells can't remember what tour it was we did so many on that trip. Clara

Don't worry cj, I think lildeb just wanted to have this topic! It's a good one for our area! I'll have to make sure when I go I grab some pics to add to it for her! I actually haven't been since I was elementary school age! Guess it will be even better since it's been such a long time!!
Next stop first is King Richard's Faire though, I got free tickets, yipppeeeee!! Then I'll take a weekend to go on up to Plimouth Plantation and stomp around with the Pilgrims!!

Oh goodness cj, don't worry about it. Was a good topic to start anyway. LOL, cj, they may have looked at you strange just to make you think they were sensing something so that you would go into their establishment for a reading or something. What can I say, I am very skeptical of people in that kind of an environment; to many wanna-bes.
I remember hearing that most of the people who were put to death, during the burning times, were not Witches; but in fact, Christians because of some of the reasons you listed. They were unliked or did something considered out of the ordinary. A mass hysteria.
