Hey gang... Got a review copy of CDF from WB56 today (just the Ernie parts, not the actual films). Let me just say, you have NOTHING to worry about. Even though it may not be exactly as you remember, the new CDF is very respectful of its past, and yes, "Toccata" is the show's theme song. The new intro is great, it really ties into Boston. When you watch it, you know this is OUR show. The special effects are technologically superior to anything you've ever seen on CDF before, but without losing the tongue-in-cheek flair it always had. As for Ernie's performance...well, he told us on "Spooky Southcoast" that he isn't much of an actor, but let me tell you, The Ghoul is an outstanding host. The love for the films really shines through, too, while mixing in some comedic elements and, for you serious fans, some trivia as well! Is it a little over-the-top? Yes, but isn't it supposed to be? This is a CDF that will please older fans, and still allow younger fans to watch without being scared off. And Mr. Stump is a great sidekick...this guy has great comedic timing, and his expressions alone get the job done. All in all, it's only about 15 minutes or so of hosting, so it won't "creep" too much into the films. And Ernie said he bought a couple of spots during the broadcast to show his support, but this is in no way a three-and-a-half-hour commercial for Boch cars. Check out some production photos at Ernie's site: www.boch.com/creature.asp
