Glad to hear it!! That's actually a dream of mine!! To see everyone sharing information in the paranormal field to help one day to make it a recognized field. I feel if we all share data and evidence, and make people feel comfortable about speaking about their experiences, we can make the field more widely accepted!! I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes over here by inviting everyone to my sites, but I'd like to see all of us, here and everywhere thoughout the world join together as a solid force. I'd love to see all of you come and visit my cyber families, we're closely knit and believe in sharing!! I'm here with you guys, in my area, to do exactly that, share data and experiences with the world!! One site is run by Grimstone, Inc, a paranormal team in Michigan, and the other by three women, including me, who've had personal paranormal experiences. Not only would I like to get more connected to people right here in my area, but I'd like to see the whole world join in! So come on over and visit us, we'll all be glad to have you, but let me warn you, once you come over, you'll be hooked!!! Have a great weekend everyone!! I will do all that I can to provide the best info I have on any part of the paranormal. As more an more people look into this vastly unexplored subject by the scientific community, the more the everyday person realizes that common debunking or out right disbelief of such subject matter by most scientists is based completely on a total lack of awareness of the volumes of truly good work done on the paranormal. Not to long in the future, we will hopfully see main stream science take a " REAL " look at the paranormal. Until that day happens, I will do my part and share what I have learned in these many years.

I looooove to hear statements like that!! It's exactly how I feel!! If we stick together as a community and share our data with each other, who knows how far we can go!??

And presumably, collectible data surrounds us to such an incredible degree! My brother Carl and I both grew up in a 'haunted house,' and Kristyn Gartland, being the 'ghost magnet' that she is, winds up attracting every spirit in her apartment building! (Kristyn - since you're moving again hon, let me know when you want the next blessing. )

I like to hear that phrase, "ghost magnet" and I'm glad you guys use it too! I have been researching paranormal phenomena for many years, and I am still intrigued by the apparent fact that some people are much more attractive to spirits than others. Though many people can claim having a paranormal experience at some point in their lives, who do some have them all the time?? Even though I am no longer bothered by the negative energy feeder that also bothered friends and especially my children, I still have paranormal activity from time to time. I even believe it was the spirit of a boyfriend of mine who died saving my life 24 years ago who told me my ex was cheating on me!!! Many of the people who experience paranormal activity on a regular basis, that I've interviewed in person, and whom I've met on my website, seem to also be "sensitive" in other ways too. Is there some common factor that links all "ghost magnets" in some way?? I believe there is, and I'd love to find out what it is!! I'd love to hear more of your stories that you guys can share!! I think the key to learning and finding the keys is in sharing our stories and information! I hope someday, everyone feels comfortable and confident enough to do that!! So how about this, I'll share my stories, if you guys will share some with me!! Deal??

There is a saying my first mentor said to me nearly 20 years ago that I have found all to true, " For every step you take towards the paranormal, IT TAKES 2 TOWARDS YOU. " The answer to your question about people being " ghost magnets " is, yes. The reasons for this are numerous, but the most common is that some people give off more of an energy than others. By energy, I am talking about the bodies NATURAL bio-electric field not some metaphyical/etherial energy, though that does play a small part.(a very small part) This is why some people feel cold when an " entity " is near. This is called an endothermic reaction, just like in chemistry when 2 solutions are mixed the atoms look to draw energy for its enviroment to fuel the reaction to form a new compound.(ie-adding CH3CN & H2O- it gets cold)Conversely, when an " entity " acts on its enviroment, heat is given off because it is expending energy. This is called an exothermic reaction, this is why an " entity " will show heat just like a person does working thier mussels. This can be seen in the most resent airing of ghost hunters. In that show there is an " object " that showed up on the FLIR (foward looking infra-red) camera. In that shot a " body " can be seen running from one door into another. The upper body is cool in color and the legs are hot in color just as you would find in a actual person performing the same activity. Just because your dead doesn't mean ALL the laws of physics no longer apply to you. Remember, for every action there is a reaction, that goes for this plain as well as any other. Energy can be neither created or destroyed only changed, well atleased according to Einstein. Hope that help you some. Matt M.

I definitely agree with you Matt!! I feel that there is some common element, or trait, that "ghost magnets" all have, I just can't track it down. I believe there is something different about these people, and it is in the energy field they carry around with them that this difference exists! No matter what I've done in my life, the paranormal seems to always take two steps towards me LOL! After I had children I was afraid that my research would affec them, so I stopped for awhile. To find it made no difference whether I was an active participant or not, the paranormal activity didn't stop because I did, it continued and then went on to bother and scare my children. In a sense, I was forced back into it, LOL! In order to help my children, I had to help myself, I had to take control of the situation. I am happy to say, the negative energy feeder no longer preys on me, my children, or my visitors, but there still is activity. If I go to a house, and it is haunted, I just know it, my "senses" start going off, my neck tingles and my hair stands up. Recently, I began experimenting again. Even though the activity that I experience now is harmless and even helpful, (That's another story) I'm curious and want to learn to do more than I ever have before. I want to know why they are here, what's different about me and my children?? I was in a building that I didn't know was haunted, but once inside, my senses told me something was up. I sat practicing some exercises that help you to see "auras" since I think this may help in the sighting of spirits. I was in a place where people where speaking and could look at them for auras without looking like I was staring. I can't tell you the location, but I can tell you it was an estate at one time and it's a beautiful, historic building. Out of nowhere, and I believe because I was in "aura vision" a lady ghost in a blue dress appeared!! I couldn't believe it, and when I tried to look directly at her, she disappeared. Sensing I was onto something I began to look at the person's aura I'd been studying and low and behold, she appeared again!!! I was all excited but went back and forth from regular sight to aura sight and she appeared and disappeared. I'm not sure how long she stayed, I was just caught in the moment! Later as I climbed the stairs to use the ladies' room, I felt the feelers go up again and felt like someone was staring at me at the top of the stairs to the right. As I got to the top I looked where I'd felt the person staring and low and behold it was the picture of a woman with thick brown hair tied back in a bun, wearing a sapphire blue dress, that somehow I knew was made of tafetta, though, I know I've never seen it before. Now I know it's shiny and was very expensive in her time, it was the same woman who had just been standing there looking at me downstairs. I read her name on the frame and said hello in my mind. I wish I could share her name, but I'm under oath not to share the location. This was the first time in years, I've tried anything in years and I was happy with the results. Here I am back in the thick of it!! If I take ten steps into the paranormal, how many steps toward me will the paranormal take?

LOL!! I don't know about that!! It seems every time I step away, it follows me!! I have to say, I've become very comfortable with it over the years. Now I've decided that if I can't beat them, I'll study them. Now that my boys are older, I have a chance to do it! I hope that by learning more and coming into contact with more of them to study on, I might be able to do it! I guess when I have a chance, I'll have to tell you my story, so you can see what I mean, LOL! But I can't leave the paranormal behind, somehow, it's part of me and what I have to do for some reason. I'm just so glad that I've met up with some of the best people involved in the paranormal to help. I've learned so much from all of them and I'm grateful. I hope to figure out the puzzle and become whatever it is I'm supposed to, whether that's just someone who helps others, or a real kick arse ghost hunter, I don't know, but hopefully with a little help from my friends, here and all over the paranormal world, I'll figure it out!!!

Investigating the paranormal is like a medical student studying about disease. The medical student thinks they have symptoms of the disease they are studying; the investigator sees/hears what it is they are researching. Case in point: A few months ago I gave a presentation on Shadow People. One thing I found out, during my months of research, was that the more I learned, the more I began having encounters with them. Of course my first thought was, "woo-hoo, lots of contact with the Shadows!" However, realistically, I had to consider a few things: Was this just my imagination? Was this topic on my mind so much that they were only manifested thought forms ? Was I dreaming? Was my investigating irritating the Shadows so they decided appear and let me know? To this day, I can not be sure. Always good to keep that skeptical bone in your body activated. Happy hunting - and enjoy! >^..^<

Hmm, lots of good points lildeb! I'm not the only one who experiences things. My sons have many encounters, and it's not because I've ever put these notions into their heads. My oldest does still remember the actions of the NEF, but my youngest doesn't recall them at all. Lucky he is that he was younger when it was happening. No, I honestly have to say that events don't happen because I'm involved in it. For years, because of my children, once I'd gotten rid of the energy feeder, I wasn't actively pursuing the paranormal. But things keep happening anyway. I can't say they happen on a regular basis, but they do still happen. One of the most common occurences that happens, is missing silverware. I have to buy silverware more often than anyone because, it up and walks away. That is one thing that no matter how many times I ask not to take my silverware, forks and spoons go walkabout, never to return. I have asked for them to stop playing with my lights, tv, etc, they no longer do it. When they were angry at my ex, and at the time, I had no way of knowing exactly why they were angry with him, they broke a couple things in my house. That was the only time anything was broken, and now I understand why, but that's a story in itself, in which I do have photographic evidence. I'm a bit leary to tell the story here, but I will I think so you guys can understand, it's just that it's a local haunted love story, and I actually do want to write the story as a book. I think it's worth sharing!!
Most of the time now, it's just little things, like taking things for a few days, then returning them right where they came from. We also play, figure out how I'm making a noise, and when I figure out what the noise is, the spirit starts making a new noise. I find it very cool that once I guess, the noise stops until a new one is thought up for me to guess. That's happened a few times, and I think is a little girl spirit. My son recently had a plastic toy fly out of his closet and hit him in the nose. A long time ago, in another apartment, as I was cooking dinner, he was in the bathroom. I was going back and forth and could see the bathroom door as I went. Suddenly, I heard the door handle working and then the door came open so fast I heard it scrape the rug. As I was going back and forth, I did see the door come open, but what puzzled me was my son, still sitting on the throne, with a puzzled look on his face. He asked me if I'd opened the door, when I told him no, he said that was weird, I saw the handle turn, I thought it was you. The door had to be opened with some force, for like I said it scraped on the rug, and my son couldn't have done it without getting off the throne. I was right there, I would have seen him move away from the door. I could fill pages with all the little incidents that I have around my homes over the years. I'm searching for answers!! Why do they follow me?? Why do I know when a place is haunted?? I do, I just know, I can feel it. That's why there are so many places I want to get into sooo badly, I know they are haunted. While I'm doing all this and being involved in the paranormal I once and for all would like to know, why me, what is it about me that I have such a rare case??? It is almost unheard of for spirits to follow a person around like they do with me. So why?? I know this is happening as sure as I know I've got a nose on my face. And besides, I'm not the only one who witnesses things. I have friends, and my sons who have had experiences. I've got ex's that have had things happen to them, heck two of them were attacked by the NEF while they slept. I've felt and seen ghosts from other places. A lady ghost showed herself to me, in a historic home. Her picture even hangs there, which I saw after I saw her spirit. So, if anyone has any ideas, please let me know, I'm open! Until then, I am beginning to assume that I'm just a darned ghost magnet and I just ought to get used to it!!
I will try to get some of my stories up here if you guys are interested. I want you to realize, I've had a lifetime of contact with spirits, now I want some answers!!

Actually, if you're really interested, go to Spirited Society or The Spirit Society, there is still one more story I have to write, but this is the skeleton for the book I'd like to write. Don't worry, there's a lot more to the story than just these little pieces. I hope it gives some food for thought, and if anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them! Once you're on the site, go to our forum. My stories are in Ghosts and Hauntings at Spirited Society and stories on The Spirit Society forums. My stories are numbered for chronological order. (The last story I write will also have the photo evidence that I have.) Some of you from the area, may know one of my spirits, but he's different from the others, as you'll see! The one thing that I am sure of, is that he's waiting for me! www.spiritedsociety.netwww.spiritsociety.org

I understand what you are saying. I have been able to see/sense spirits and hear them since I was a child. Guess I never thought much about it until I got older and realized that not everyone was able to do that. My Mother and a few of her sisters and brothers are also sensitive. This gift has been passed onto my two children as well. My son has never been completely comfortable with it, but works with it. My daughter asked me once, "Mom, do you ever get used to it?" My answer to her was, "No, you never get used to it, just accept it; it's a gift." We could probably fill a good sized book with all the stories we could tell. To this day, my children's friends still like to hear my 'ghost stories'.
But, on a serious note, from what I have been able to find out, spirits seem to follow sensitives around. I would guess that if they find someone that acknowledges their presence, they hang onto that person; for the attention, or who knows what. Granted it can all be unnerving at times, but I would never want these abilities to change. I'd feel lost if they did. Guess the best thing you can do is embrace them and deal with them the best that you can.

I knew you'd understand!! Well, I did try ignoring them, and after the end of the NEF there was time of peace. I think all the spirits that were around us, knew we needed a break after all we'd been through. When they started back up, at first I was afraid it was a sign the NEF was back! I kept ignoring it, but a few years ago, I started to realize they weren't the NEF and I understood there had always been more than one. But when the man who died saving my life, came and showed me something very important, I knew I had to know more. Now I'm so used to it, it doesn't even phase me. My two sons are a bit different with their abilities. My older one still remembers the NEF, so he's a bit more leary of spirits, but he can see them. The house he's living in now, has a spirit. It's a very historic home in of course, The Bridgewater Triangle. Though the owners of the house have seen this spirit for 40 years, he tries to interact with my son more than anyone else. I think he's attracted to my son for the same reasons the NEF and other spirits are attracted to me. I believe it runs in families, strongly! My youngest is a real trooper, he doesn't remember the NEF, and he calmly tells them to stop whatever they're doing, so he can sleep. It's funny how calm he is. When we talk about it, he says it's because I taught him about it so well. I'm glad I could do that for him. Both my sons get the deja vu dreams that come true, and once again, it's from their mom. I've often wondered, is it the deja vu dreams that make us sensitive to spirits, is it something else, we don't know about? Are we high energy burners who in turn throw off a bigger energy field, that's more attractive to spirits, who need energy to manifest?? I don't know, but I'd love to find out!! But, either way, thanks lildeb, it's good to know someone else is out there who shares our traits, and even has little ghost magnet children!! So here I am, back in the world of the paranormal, and I've learned one thing, I belong here!! I want answers, I'm going to find them!!
