Okay...anyone who knows me knows I'm not big on orb photos, but a friend of mine got this the other day while we were at the Assonet Ledge taking pictures for my book. It is, in my opinion, one of the most haunted places in Massachusetts. I have many stories about the place, but some local authorities believe there are still bodies under the water that have not been found. I have a story about someone at the top seeing a light, much bigger than this, trying to break the surface but seeming to be pulled back. It also fits in with some Pukwudgie stories as well. You can read them at www.masscrossroads.com/pukwudgiesThe photo was taken with a high resolution digital camera used for professional, book quality pictures. It had just started to rain, as you can see, and the person took the photo for the random shoe in the water. At least twenty were taken within a few minutes, and none had anything like this. The person said, "I never get orbs in my photos. There are at least a dozen bad things about the situation that could have created a bad picture, but this pictures does not follow any of those mistakes. www.masscrossroads.com/assledgeorb.jpg

Hmm, that is weird and interesting. A raindrop can look sort of like that, but they go down, not up, hmmm!!

That's what I'm saying. We should have gotten any number of "fake" ghost pictures, but not the one we got.

There's another ledge like that in Dartmouth, near where Lincoln Park used to be. I heard all sorts of stories about it, and how there were supposedly drowned bodies stuck down deep in underwater caverns or caught on spits of rock that jut up from the bottom. Even my mother told me about it, I guess she was afraid I'd be fool enough to try swimming there and end up caught in the underwater wreckage or spires of rock under the surface. Nah, I wasn't going anywhere near that place for swimming, just hearing about it always gave me the creeps!

When you catch raindrops on film, they very often are photographed as if they are going in an upward direction. This picture was taken at Cobbs Hill Cemetery East, on a rainy night. All the white spots you see are rain drops. It was explained to me why this happens, but for the life of me, I can't remember. >^o.o^<

Thanks lildeboc...
If you ever remember the explanation, forward it to me. I'd love to know it and pass it on to others...

Sure will alosa, I would be glad to; I plan on looking into it this week. When I found out about it, it sure did burst some bubbles for some of my pictures, but that was okay - just another learning experience. Just one more example of how an anomaly can turn out to be easily explainable.
