Hi Melba -
You might not of gotten any sleep, but it looks like you were having fun!
I agree with you about the altitude thing. Colorado Springs is even worse than the Denver area.
I do dig the 75 mph speed limit tho'. Very civilized to acknowledge the speed that most people drive on the highway anyhow.

LOL! Doesn't matter what the speed limit is out here, noone follows it!! I wonder if they raised it here what would happen, if we'd follow it or not! I love going into the mountains, but I don't think I've ever been that high! Don't you get used to the altitude after a few days??

Most people do not follow the speed limit as it is now. What makes you even wonder if those same people would do any different if the speed limit was raised? Personally, I'm more about saving fuel than being the fastest one on the road. >^o.o^<

hey lildebcc -
I bought a used, but "new to me" Infiniti I30 for the same price as a used Maxima last year, to scale back from my V8 Dodge Ram 1500 Magnum pickup. Once I started paying 65 bucks a tank to fill up every three days, hubby put the kibosh on keeping the truck (which I had bought after being in a very bad car accident - got hit by a drunk driver and just wanted the biggest d@mn thing I could find to drive).
Let me tell you, it is very hard NOT to go fast in the Ini. The performance of the car just rocks in bad weather or good. 245 hp, 6 cyl. I make myself set the cruise control at about 72 mph so that I get about 28 miles/gallon. Only rarely do I break out the lead foot.
Last time I was in Co. with a rental car, I had an Impala V8 - and that was fun, driving from Denver to Colorado Springs and back again!!!

I can't help but be into the muscle cars, and horsepower, LOL, I AM a licensed auto appraiser, so I guess it just comes with the turf. I do appreciate saving gas, but every now and then it's actually good for your car to put the pedal to the metal, LOL, as long as you're not doing it all the time. And man, I hear ya about the little cars, I'm surprised I haven't been run over in my little Mitsubishi! I swear people can't see me because the car is so low. I'm always getting close to run over, or someone will run a stoplight or stop sign and almost cream me! I would love to have a bigger vehicle, but I could never afford the gas! So I stick with my little economical car, and pray my guardian angel keeps up her vigil!!
I hear ya about the accidents, I've probably had more accidents than you can imagine, LOL, sometimes I swear I'm related to Evil Kneivel, LOL!! I'd love to have a tank around me and all, but with gas prices the way they are, I just can't do it, LOL! Now, hmm, an Impala V8 on Colorado's mountainous roads??? I sure think I'd like to try that, sounds like killer fun!! Colorado's on my list of places to visit one of these days, I just love the mountains!!
