You guys are going to love this one!
Had kind of an up and down day at work today. At the end of the day had a really stressful time trying to make a personal phone call.
Some people's cell phones where I work get spotty reception, I usually get so-so reception at my desk, but crap everywhere else in my building.
Of course, the phone call I'm expecting doesn't come through, but the voice mail does. So this makes me really stressed out and I decide, screw it, I'm leaving a little early so I can get on the highway and make the darn phone call.
For a variety of reasons, my stress level at this point is hugely high.
Suddenly, my cell phone just stops dialing out properly as I'm holding it in "Speakerphone" mode trying to get my message (not a battery issue - it's plugged into the car at this point) - it then degrades further from that point - I put it up to my head off speaker and not only does it refuse to dial out but then the display on the outside of the phone DIES. I try to shut the phone off and turn it back on again. I CAN'T SHUT THE PHONE OFF!!!
Next I try to "reboot" the phone by taking the battery/SIM card out and putting it back in, it starts to reboot okay, but stops and won't go into diagnostic mode and it is basically fried.
Techo-hubby examined intensively to make sure I didn't actually secretly drop it in a toilet or some such and could not revive either.
I swear on a stack of bibles that I have not dropped the phone, exposed it to anything unusual as far as magnetic fields, etc. I used it yesterday and it worked just fine.
It worked just fine today up until I tried to use it on the way home.
So, I have graduated from watch-stopping to cell-phone destruction. If anyone wants to get their phone upgraded early, you can sent it to me and I'll just duct tape it on somewhere on a stressful day and your wish will come true - LOL!
Not sure how to present this at cell phone store, but I have the phone replacement plan, so I think I'll just go with "Dumb" and say, "Gee, it just stopped working..." [puzzled, cross-eyed, kind of look].
