I was just wondering, i`ve been watching "A haunting" a lot on Discovery Channel lately... What do you guys think about these episodes?Do you belive the stories and is that how hauntings act? Or is this just a mediathing? I like the show a lot, but i dont want to get hung up in a TVshow thats just out for the attention of the televisionviers! In Norway we have a similar show, but here they just bring in a psycic and she lights a candle, say a prayer and closes her eyes for 1 minut and she says the place is clean! It CAN`T be that easy!!!! Can it?

I have watched this show a couple of times, and find it's alright. They are telling stories about hauntings and I think they do try to dramatize it a bit, but people like that. It seems they do stick mostly to the facts as well as they can. Bill Bean, a person who was haunted by negative inhuman entities wrote a book about his story, and they did a show based on his haunting. I saw that online, and I'm not sure how close it is to the facts, I haven't had a chance to read his book yet. All in all, it's not too bad of a show though.
I have noticed, knowing someone from England that people in Europe investigate totally differently from how we investigate in America. There is much more faith put into the psychic aspects in Europe it seems to me. No, I don't think it's as easy as that, but then again, I believe in the power of positive thinking, so whatever way we choose to help "clear" certain spirits is nothing more than the power of positive thinking in my eyes. I do think that science and the psychic senses do need to get together, I think the field would come forward more quickly if we could get the two together. Whaling City Ghosts (my team) does try to remain open minded, and if something psychic happens on investigation, we delve into finding out what it was, how it was possible, and how it fits into the haunting. It doesn't happen all the time, and we tend to go more scientific, and use scientific equipment and methods, but we don't completely rule out the psychic. I find the European methods tend to lean more toward psychic methods, but that's ok too, they seem to accept that much more than we do here in America. Maybe if both countries work together, we could find more keys to what is going on in the paranormal world?

I think some of the original episode, especially a Haunting in Connecticut, were amazing. They have kind of reached a plateau lately. You do not have to feel guilty watching it as long as you realize you're wathcing a dramatic presentation of something that happened that has been cleaned up and shortened for audiences. I know many of the investigators they have brought into houses on the show, and they have no post-Hauntings regret.
Just beware of thinking every investigation ends with demons crawling the walls...

I got to watch a couple episodes yesterday since my stupid back was acting up. I thought it was pretty good, it seems they portray it as close to fact as they can. The only thing I didn't like was they way they portrayed wicca. I admit an inexperienced person may be able to do damage, but they portrayed her like an evil insane person, with that look in her eyes, LOL! I have many friends who are wiccan and they are very knowledgeable wonderful people. But other than that, they had the original witnesses to help narrate and was pretty interesting. I do like to hear of history and hauntings from other places, so all in all, not a bad show.
