Hi all, I thought I'd share these photos I took at our local mausoleum. I went with a group to our local cemetery. A couple of the groups around here have reported a lot of activity in this particular place so we went with our equipment to check things out. I brought my digital camera to snap some photos, someone else brought an EMF meter, and we also had a few audio recorders. The only odd thing we got was a few EMF spikes in this set back crypt. I snapped a bunch of photos and got one image that really kind of caught my interest where we had the EMF spikes. I know this is nothing paranormal but it kind of looks a bit freaky. this first photo is of the wall right next to the plot. I looked at this photo and it kind of gave me the creeps. To point out what gave me the creeps I rotated the photo and altered the contrast slightly just to make it a little more clear. Now i'm thinking that if I was laid to rest there and still hanging around I'd be more then a little restless over this. Am I the only one that gets creeped out by this image. I know it's a a matrix effect but still, i think it's darned spooky.

Makes me think of the "hooded figure" George Lutz used to see in the ash marks on the back of the fireplace at Amityville...

Yup, gotta agree, it's pretty spooky looking! I think I'd have problems 'resting' too if that was in may mausoleum!! Can you tell us some history about this place? Is it an old cemetery??

When I first looked at it, I saw a heart shape. As I kept looking, I saw what looks like the face of a bat. Bet if I kept looking, the image would keep changing.
Would not bother me if I was laid out there. All that would be there in the box is an empty shell or a pile of dust

Fairhaven is the cemetery. It's only been around since 1911. We don't really have a lot of really old cemeteries here in Southern California.
From what I've heard the mausaleum basement has a lot of activity. The story is that the childrens section of the mausaleum was moved from the upstairs section to the basement section and since then people have heard a lot of voices and unexplainable noises. I don't know how much truth thier is to the section being moved but the children's section is in the basement and has been for as long as I've been going there. I myself have gotten some unusual noises on my recorder that I can't really explain, kind of like grumbling.
I've had people tell me of shadow people being seen on the grounds. One of the people that I used to go investigating with has a picture of what appears to be a lady across the cemetery with no legs.
You tend to get a lot of very weird feelings in certain sections throughtout the cemetery. I'm not psychic or really sensitive but I still get odd feelings here and there.
I believe that it's listed on Shadowlands under Santa Ana California.

Interesting! I'd love to get a chance to get out there and check it out! One of these days, LOL! I do love Shadowlands, but the thing is many of these stories are sent in by the general public. It's best to check the places, and find out the history on your own, I've found many of them are mis-listed (hmm, is that a word, LOL) just to make sure. I'm not saying it's not haunted, but you may want to check into their listings before you go on a wild goose chase, LOL! As I'm finding out with all the websites I'm involved in, it is a large undertaking to get all the haunted spots listed. We don't really take our listings from the public, we research them and list them. In some cases, we have to say that we're not sure if it's haunted, if we don't have good reliable sources. Let me tell ya, you'd tear your hair out sometimes, or at least I do, trying to find sources, LOL!
I did enjoy the pics, and I'd love to see more, if you have any that you'd like to share with us!!

Sources are hard to find sometimes I have had the same problem but do not worry about it. Can only work with what you have, right?
People will have information that they find out about a place and not want to share it. And that is understandable, to a point. Especially if someone uses their information and keeps it as their own and not give credit where credit is due.
Unfortunately, that happens and probably always will.

I'm hoping that this changes. If the field is ever going to move forward, evidence has to be shared, when it can be. Yes, there are times that I understand, people who live in homes with these types of phenomena don't want everyone to know about it. The thing is, if evidence could and would be freely shared in the field, it would help things move forward in my eyes. I think in this field, we all need to work together. To me I'm not worried about getting credit for evidence, though I know many are worried about that. In my eyes, the more we share, and talk openly about this field, the sooner it will be accepted into the mainstream. From what I can tell some other countries are much more accepting of the idea of spirits than we seem to be in America. Yes, we all love a good ghost story, but most don't believe they're really true. I'll keep sharing whatever evidence I can and that I have permission from propety owners to share, and someday, maybe this will make a difference for us all!!

I doubt it will change. People want to be the first with the 'cool and interesting' information; I am not talking about private information from investigations Plagiarism is and always will be; whether on purpose or not.
As far as getting credit for evidence, if you came across some evidence that was most profound, would you not want to be recognized for that find? If you captured something spectacular on film, would you not want credit for the photograph? If you told someone a first-hand story and they put that story into a book saying it was their story, would you be okay with that? If that picture you took ended up on someone else's website and they said it was their picture and you could not prove otherwise, would you be okay with that?
Guess it is easy to say it would not bother you, until it actually happens. There is nothing worse than seeing the credit for your research and work go to the credit of someone else. It sucks.
In a perfect world this would not be an issue for this field; but, unfortunately, the human condition over-rides that. And that is why a lot of people will opt out from sharing information.
