This story was related to me a couple days ago by a friend. I found it quite similar to some of the sightings of shadow people that I've heard. I am relating it to get some other opinions. I'd like to poke around a bit and see if I sight this thing, but I'm not sure it's a good idea. I do believe in the power of positive thinking, but I also don't want to bring anything home that will mess with wereboy. I'm also going to leave the exact location out of this so that noone goes there and gets into any trouble. If a group of researchers wants to check into this, I'd be glad to let them know where it is. I would feel much better if it was a group used to handling this sort of thing. Everyone's safety is important to me!! I wouldn't mind being invited along of course!
My friend told me she and two friends went to a local spot. They were there after dark, and it's actually closed after dusk. They were hanging around for a bit, when all three of them noticed a dark man walking down the beach. Well, he seemed to be a man, except for the fact that they could see through him. Then he suddenly tranformed into what she described as kind of like a dog, but there was something weird about its shape and the way it walked. She said to me, you know the way a panther's shoulders move up and down when it walks, it was like that. Slinky with the fluid motion of the shoulders going up and down. But then, it changed back into a man again, but something was wrong about its shape, and its arms seemed too long to be a human. They were all pretty frightened and disturbed at what they saw, so they left quickly and went home.
Though all three of them experienced some of the same types of activity, I don't have them to interview and can only give you the experiences my friend related to me. All three were convinced that the activity was caused by that thing following them home. Some of the activity, was just feeling bad, as if you were watched or being followed. On one occasion, she saw a black shadow-like shape come out of the wall, move across the ceiling and down her refrigerator. It also came out of her chimney/fireplace and moved across the walls. One day, she watched as the shadow shape moved up the wall, across the ceiling and then transformed into a man- shaped thing. It stood over her in her bed and got right in her face. She said he was dark, shadowy, and his eyes glowed, though she said, if I asked she wouldn't be able to tell me what color they were. She admitted she wants to say red, but she was so frightened at the time, she can't be sure if she's right or not. She screamed for it to go away, and it vanished.
All three of these women were experiencing the same things. They decided, since they are all practicing wiccans, they'd bless the houses. During the blessing of her house, the woman in the rear of the line as they walked around the house putting a protective circle around it, said she felt as if something was behind them following. The other two decided she could just be scared, for she was a bit more timid than the other two. So the second in line said she'd take the rear spot. But as they did the second circle, she admitted that she felt as if something was following behind them, something not nice. My friend decided she would take the rear position on the last circle, she had to admit to the same feeling as the other two women.
They finished the protection, and sure enough, it worked. None of them have seen that thing since that night that they did the blessing. She was so scared to bring it back into her life just by talking about it, that we ended the conversation. I didn't want her to become uncomfortable and I didn't want to put her at risk by drawing attention to her. I thought it best to take what information I'd been given, and get some opinions on this. Was this a shadow person, or some other non-human demon?? This place is a public place, I'm sure many people sneak in at night to enjoy it. Does that mean anyone entering this place is at risk? I've been there many times during the day, and I must admit, sometimes, it gives me a very odd tingle, but I've never been at night. She told me, "Go at night, and you'll see what I mean. The place just doesn't feel right." I won't go unless I have back up for this one, that's for sure!! I did the usual protection in my way of the power of positive thinking, and I said shadow people, or demons have no power over her or me. I hope it made her feel better. I know she was terribly frightened of this thing, and it was definitely obvious she was very happy to be rid of it.
She says she's never heard of a shadow person, and I assured her that it was not a common thing that people know about. The first time I ever heard of them was recently myself, when I began to delve into the paranormal world. Since I thought it is best to be safe than sorry, I recommended that she do a blessing on her home periodically, along with the homes of her two friends. Can't be too safe in these situations, and I figure if it worked the first time, it's worth keeping it up. I'm hoping that with blessings, these things can be eradicated. I do think you have to really believe what you're doing will work, just as these three women did.

Wow, interesting story. Okay here’s my take on it. You know I’m going to go the logical route first, I always do.
You said that they went to a local spot; are we talking a club, bar, or somewhere where they might have been drinking? What about drugs or something else that could be mind altering? I am not accusing them of anything, but these are the kinds of questions that have to be asked and honestly answered.
They may have seen something paranormal on the beach that night. It also could have been some kind of an illusion with the night sky, the water, moon/stars/clouds, something blowing down the beach, something like a trash bag or piece of cloth that got caught up on something blowing around.
As far as feeling followed; after what they experienced and how scared it made them, I would expect some kind of paranoia to set in, that’s natural. As far as all three of them being scared when they went to the end of the line while doing the protective circle, that could just have been hysteria. Again, they were all scared by something, and when you are scared it’s never fun to be last in line. Maybe they were followed, and maybe it was just imagination.
As far as the woman that saw the “black shadow-like shape” that moved around her house, that sounded like a Shadow encounter to me. It’s what they do, and like I have said many times before, they love to scare people. As long as they know they can get the scare out of you, they will stay around.
You would be surprised how common the Shadow People are, and how many people do know about them. Guess they just aren’t spoken about much; there is no real proof of what they are. Like I said before, they could be so many things, and all of those things are theory.
It’s good that the blessing worked for them. I’m not really sure if that will keep the Shadows away, but they believe in it and if it works for them that’s all you can ask for.
Investigating anything on your own is never a good idea. It’s always good to have at least one person with you, especially at night. It’s not the dead or the bump-in-the-night things that I worry about; it’s the live idiots that you can run into that worry me.

I have had some time to think on this! The day I had my spine done, I was pretty sore and couldn't sleep all night. Yes, I laid around sleepless and thought about the shadows. I kept saying, well, this is great, if these things can find me by my thinking of them, well, they've got my number, LOL! No matter how hard I tried my mind kept going back to them.
I have to admit, I handle interviews a bit different. Ya see, to me, you really can't tell sometimes, who is telling the truth, and who's making it up, and who's a crazy bugger who is imagining things. Well, sometimes, you can get a pretty good idea of who's who, but other times, you really can't. I've also noticed that if you are not readily agreeing with some witnesses, they tend to clam up and you get less information out of them. So when I interview, even if I think the person is crazy, I make believe I totally believe everything they're saying. I've found, I get much more information and can make a better decision when I've got a person's trust and they think they have an understanding comrade.
That being said, well, yes, of course it could have been their imaginations. They all could have been victims of spontaneous manifestation, because they all believed they were having a paranormal experience. The whole story they told me could have been based on a plastic garbage bag blowing in the wind for all we know, we were not there. But because I am the person who interviewed one of the witnesses and because I know her well, I have to say, she's a credible witness. That being said, I have to take some of the events she related as for real, I have to try to prove or disprove, it's my nature. If I could research this one, which I can't on my own, I would have to see if I could re-create the event in any way. It would probably take many months of trying and there is no guarantee that I could re-create it. Maybe the place has a portal and these things enter there regularly. Maybe the energy of my friends together attracted it and it was an isolated incident and will never happen at this place again. But since I can't go alone and won't risk anyone who's inexperienced, I won't do it! I might poke my curiosity all around it, but I won't enter!! Too risky, too many spirits I do care about, and don't want myself, or them hurt!!!
Now that being said, you have to understand that sometimes, things come to me, and they actually make sense. Here's what I came to understand the other night as I thought of shadow people and all you and many others have said about them. To understand what I'm about to say about shadow people, you need to understand how I feel about spirits and what categories I feel they belong in. Ghosts to me, are spirits of people who were once alive here on earth, they have somehow gotten stuck, or stayed behind in this world, they belong, they are spirits of the earth. Whether they are intelligent spirits who interact with the living or residuals that have no awareness and do not interact, they still belong, they are earth spirits. Now demons and such, to me, were never human, they include some of the negative energy feeders, and stronger things that seek to possess people, they also belong here. They have been bound to the earth probably before we humans even existed. They are also earth spirits and are bound here, I don't even think they can leave our earth or our reality, they are earthbound spirits, just as human spirits or animal spirits are. In my mind, an elemental is also an earthbound spirit and belong to the earth just as much as we do. I think they are a part of nature that has existed as long as any life has. Some are primitive and not much thought goes on in them, some have advanced and I think are quite intelligent, but also necessary parts of our earth and the dimensions that belong here on earth.
Now here's where I get weird on you. Sometimes I'm not even sure where I get some of my ideas, maybe a little bird tells me, maybe it's a little ghost for all I know. As I lay, thinking of shadows, and idea came in that I couldn't deny. Shadows are not spirits of this earth. They don't belong here. The energy they get is from the fear they can impose on a victim. On their own, I don't think they can do much except enter our realm, but I think they even need some of our energy to do this. I'm not sure if they are aliens, like one of the guests on spooky stated, or if they are some type of inter-dimensional being, but they aren't earrth spirits. The only way they can even have any power in our world is to bring fear upon a victim and then feed upon it. Without this fear to feed upon and gain energy, they wouldn't have an iota of power at all. So in other words, if they can't make us fear them, they can't enter our world. They will go through great lengths to bring out fear in us. They will change into things they know we fear, they will become a dark shadow and slither along our walls. They'll turn into a predator, or a monster, if they think it will make us fear. They will change into a man form with glowing eyes and get right in our face. But one thing they can't do, is become solid, they can't change into a form unless they steal it from our minds. There is actually more I'd like to say, but I don't know for sure that I'm right. But I can say this, I don't think they would have one ounce of power without the element of fear that they bring upon their victims. They are not earthbound creatures, and may even be from another time, reality, or dimension, but they don't belong to our reality. I'm also thinking, if there was a time that they would visit me, it was that night. I was all alone, it was dark, and I was vulnerable, from pain, and lack of sleep. I said a few things out loud as I got sleepy, things that to me are my protections. Finally, I fell asleep. No shadows have been lurking around me. Again, there's more I'd like to say about this, but much, I'm keeping to myself. One of these days you and I will have to go for a cup of coffee and have a good discussion about these buggers! I think it's important though, that any victim of these understands. I think we have the power. I think if we're being attacked by one of these things, we need to take control. I think we need to tell them to get out of our world, they don't belong. So after all this typing, I'd like to see, anyone who is being attacked by one of these things to have some power over them, and their own fears. I don't want to say anymore online, but I do want to say, if anyone is being attacked, I'd like to know. I'd like to put this theory into practice. I see it this way, either I'm wrong and I can't help, or I'm right and by taking control over our realm here, we can defeat these things. Whatcha think lildeb?? Also, do you think it would be a good idea to post some safe ghost hunting rules for people to follow?? Let me know, I'd love to help!!!!

It's very true that you can't always tell if someone's story is the truth or not. I have tried to help people with things in the past only to find out after that they were lying. I like asking a lot of questions, and sometimes rewording the questions, to see if a person's story is consistent. Guess that goes along with being skeptical.
Knowing that your friend is a credible witness does help to validate the story. And it seems as though they were scared by something, but what exactly we'll never know. Like you said, we were not there. It's hard to help someone when you don't know what you're helping them with.
We try to recreate events and even pictures. Some people think that they get a ghost in a picture, and we try to show them how the 'ghost' got there. It bursts the bubble of the person who took the picture, but it's better to know the truth about it.
I really liked your post. I agree with your take on Shadow People, you seem to have summed it up quite well. It is hard to say what they are considering there is no scientific proof even as to their existence. I have a few other theories about Shadow People that I would like to pass by you. These are not my theories, but some that were given to me by a friend.
Theory: Shadow People have been keeping track of psychics/initiatives/clairvoyants for years. People with these abilities tend to have encounters with Shadows. It is if people with these abilities are watched or followed and tested from time to time to see how powerful there abilities are. Why and whom the testing is for is anyone’s guess.
Theory: They are an underground group, something like the illuminati, and they use astral projection as a means to gain power by controlling and diverting the attention from initiatives with prophetic abilities.
Theory: They are aetheric/interdimensional beings that co-exist on our plane. Negative forces that feed off of fear or confusion. Maybe targeting people with abilities as well as going after people that have no abilities but who are closely connected to an intuitive as a way to get the attention of the intuitive person.
I was also told that knowledge is power – and the more you know about the Shadows, the more power you have over them. Sure doesn’t feel like it at the time of an encounter with them though, but it is true. I don’t think they can be defeated, but I do think that they can be controlled to some extent.
I have seen listings of ‘safe ghost hunting rules’ in books and on numerous websites. They all vary a bit, but are pretty much the same. Might be worth compiling them and posting them here. Will have to check it out first though, to make sure it’s an undertaking we really want to commit to.
Would be fun to sit down and have a conversation over coffee. Ummmm, can we go to Burger King so I can get another crown? ;D

We can definitely go to Burger King and get another crown! Like I said, as long as I don't have to wake up to the king, I'm good, LOL! I like the theories you listed above, they seem to make a lot of sense to me! I guess someday we'll be able to sit back and talk about how right or wrong we are when there is scientific evidence and proof of their existence. I like the way it sounds like you interview. I've noticed that if a person isn't really telling the truth, you do get an idea of it while you question them. I've found when I pretend I believe every word they say, they get confident and talk more, usually making it obvious that it isn't the truth. Either by changing their story or leaving something out. For some reason I have a feeling that I won't see any shadows, so I don't think I'l be much use in researching them except by what I can read of others' experiences with them. I'd just as soon not have any contact with them anyway! I'm a person who is into ghosts, good ghosts, preferably, but somehow, I just don't consider shadow people a ghost, or anything I'd like to meet on a dark alley! I'm trying to be safe, I say out loud very often lately that they have no power over me and I've been practicing shielding techniques and making sure I extend it to my beastie boy. I don't normally take him out for pics, the day with race car driver was an exception to my rules. I know things like being attractive or sensitive to spirits can run in families, so if he ends up being attractive or sensitive, I want him to be prepared for that, and I'd prefer if he was a bit older. Of course, I can't keep the spirits of my own house away from him, but so far, they've never done anything negative or scary to him and he's very open about talking about them. Of course, he doesn't remember the negative energy feeder, so he has a much more positive outlook on these things than even his brother did, who does remember, being older. But funny, both of them are pretty brave, and very open about talking and exploring the scientific possibilities of these events. I'm glad for both of them that their attitude is so good! I wish it had been like that for me as a kid! Either way, I've decided to bless my house, just as a precaution and because I think this house is due for a good blessing! I mostly just ask that nothing negative or evil can enter my home. Maybe some won't agree, but I allow the good spirits to enter, and I feel this gives my good spirits the knowledge that they're welcome and that any protection they can give is apprecitated. Dont' know if it works, but it makes me feel better! I think I'll include my beastie wereboy, so he can feel confident and a part of things! I think sometimes just the act of taking things into your own hands and doing something can make you feel powerful in itself! See ya at Burger King, lildeb!!!
