I could not take pictures of the ceremony, but I do have a good one of the crew I went with. The ceremony is held every November at Metacom's Tree in Dighton, Ma. It is very spiritual, very powerful! After the ceremony, we were honored to go back to the Tribal Council House and have a pot luck dinner. I don't think I'll ever forget the ceremony, or that we were all welcomed. It did not matter who came, for everyone is one in their eyes. I think it is a lesson this world could use! Big thanks going out to the Wampanoags, and to the elders, and the good spirits that joined us! (Boy am I glad they didn't forget the plate of food for the puckwudgies! I'd sure hate to get them angry at us, for not remembering them at such a special ceremony!) From left to right, Deb Paiva, my Head of Historical Research, and her son Randy, Audrey Hewins of Starborn Support, my son Tyler in the back, myself, and Debbie Hewins of Starborn Support.
