I recently saw a Standard-Times article that was written about Tim's book, The Ghosts of the Southcoast. I do have to say thanks to Tim for giving Whaling City Ghosts such a huge plug, by mentioning us in the papaer! But I do have to admit that I sort of giggle if someone calls me "psychic."
To me, someone who is psychic has control over their skills. They can read people, places and things. I'm not sure if that is something I can ever do, at will, at least. For, yes, I do have to admit, and I've been forthcoming to everyone about some of the experiences that I've had, that things do happen to me. I can't tell myself that I'm going to go on an investigation, and "read" the spirits there. But at times, I might touch something, or be on the right wavelength, or some such thing, and see pictures in my head. I might even have dreams and then live to see them come true. The spirit of a dead person may even speak to me while I sleep. I never know what's going to happen. To me, a psychic, though they might have off days at times, can do this when they want to, can "make" it happen. I can't come close to making those types of things happen. But then again, I have "set my mind" to do things and have been able to at will, but not really the things that people might call psychic. At the same time, I've had enough of these "strange experiences" to want to research them further.
Over the years, I have studied what I would call psychic abilities and have found that there are amazingly gifted people out there. It only makes me want to study it more. I'm hoping that my first book will be out soon. It's an EVP book, but later, I'd like to publish books that explain more about some of my theories and ideas on how these things work. I don't really have any answers, I don't even know why I, at times, can produce some astonishing phenomena. But as for being psychic, there are much more gifted people out there than I could ever claim to be. Though, at times, I do wonder if it's a matter of practice. The more you practice, the better your natural abilites become?
I don't know. But I do know one thing. My life is dedicated to finding answers, and to proving that ghosts, and negative entities do exist. If becoming more used to using psychic abilities will help me get there, well, I guess I have a lot of work to do. But for now, I look to science and learning more about string theory, and the many universes that I believe exist around us, unseen, unknown, mysterious, and hope that I will get closer to answers. Answers to mysteries that have been with humankind since the beginning of time, and might still be with us at the end of time.
I just wanted to clear that up. If I'm psychic, then I guess I'm a part-time psychic. One who only sees what she can see, when she can see it. Even so, I can't help but be fascinated by the possibilities, and look to the future with hope, and faith, that before I meet my maker, I just might be one step closer to learning what I have always been trying to grasp. Or heck, maybe I need multiple lifetimes to discover it all! Hey, I'm game! And who knows what the future may bring?
And so, this part-time psychic, most of the time ghost hunter, walks away with a smile on her face, and her eyes to the future! See you all there.....
