At first, I wasn’t going to say anything, but I have to.
Matt Moniz TOTALLY ruined the SS ep. featuring Commander Sanni Ceto.
Is she reincarnated from a alien at Roswell? Who knows, but MM’s complete derision and disdain for this guest was extremely rude.
Also, I listen to SS for the guests – NOT for MM’s personal political views.
It was very bizarre when he was throwing in his opinion about President Obama when Ms. Ceto was trying to tell her story.
I don’t know what was up wit MM, but his Obama non sequiturs and blatant rudeness to this guest was VERY out of the ordinary.
I hope that he doesn’t repeat this behavior – even Tim Weiberg sounded startled when MM went on his odd political diatribe and tried to save face by telling Ms. Ceto to 'just ignore him.'.
BTW - no matter what we think of SC's story, she should have been treated with respect and wasn't.

Moniz does like to sneak those Obama jabs in there from time to time...usually, he's just cracking wise and not trying to steer the discussion into anything political. Believe me, I know Matt Moniz very well, and he would NEVER choose talking politics over the paranormal!
I did give him a heads-up during before the show that this interview might be a little tough for him, but that he needed to hold back and let Commander Sanni tell her story before he starts to break it all down. I knew he'd find holes in some of her information, but wanted to let her get it all out first. I thought he did an admirable job for as long as he could holding it back--watch the video podcast and you can seem him turning red as he holds it all in--but he could only do it for so long.
I agree with you that Spooky Southcoast should be about the guests...always has been, always will (except for those rare nights when one cancels out and we're forced to go it alone). I stated on that show, as I have in the past and will again in the future, that it's not our job to censor or question the story as it is being told. We should allow the guest to tell their story, question where we need to question, get all the information we can, and then allow the listeners to decide for themselves. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't engage in a little discussion about our own feelings about the story being told, but we should only do so as analysis.
That's the only way to do this show correctly, and in my opinion, that's where so many other paranormal shows fail. Too many of them like to bring someone like Commander Sanni on in order to mock her story rather than to listen to the message behind it. Not to speak for Moniz, but I know he feels the same way and I think he just got a little heated in that particular instance.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I understand that you cannot let a guest appear without pointing holes in their story here and there....but it just seemed like MM was really gunning for this guest.
I suppose that it is a matter of opinion just exactly how extreme one thought MM was in this particular ep. I thought he was very extreme, but that is just me.
I have heard a lot more bizarre stories/guests on "SS" before and they were not gunned for like Ceto was.
This is just my opinion, nothing more.

I can't really comment too much until I see the episode, but I am a little surprised. For I do know Matt and have worked with him quite a few times. He has always been professional and polite in my opinion, though he does have a strange way of measuring some things, LOL! But I do have to say, we all have our limitations and we all have something that will drive us to distraction. For me it's closed minded people who won't allow things to be anything than what they imagine they should be. For Matt it must be people who claim to be reincarnations of aliens. I guess what I'm trying to say is, we're all human and there are some things that will make us step out of our usual character. For me, if someone says that there is no such thing as negative entities, I get a little hot myself, and will argue the point. Sometimes even quite strongly. You would forgive me if I went on a tangent wouldn't you? (I hope so, I try not to go on tangents too often, and I try to be professional even when I do go on one.) I think I'm just saying we all have a button that when you push it, we react. I'm just hoping maybe you can forgive Matt for having a button too!

Well, as I said, I totally understand when Tim, Matt, et all, have to point out holes in guests' stories....but this particualr show seemed like Ceto was being really gunned for. She even kinda flipped out and said that she was 'damned tired' of not being believed. I really thought that she was going to hang up her phone in the middle of the show!
Without sounding rote, as I also said, I have heard way stranger guests on SS and they were not as harshly treated as Ceto was.
As I also said, that is JMHO, nothing more.
