Most times I take it with a grain of salt when someone says a famous person sold their soul to the devil. The more I heard on last Saturday's show, the more curious I got though. It seems there's an awful lot of coincidences in John's life. I'm going to have to read up more on this, for many of the things mentioned, I'd never heard before. But the show did get me to wondering, so I'm going to have to read the book. I'm just wondering how many of you think that John Lennon sold his soul to the devil to become so famous. Could it have just been a lucky break for a lucky guy, or was there more to it than that, say a contract signed by the devil himself? (Hmm, wonder if you really gotta sign that contract with blood.) So, what do you guys think?

I would probably say it was a combo of luck and hard work and possibly connections which is they way most things work. I also think it has a lot to do with the right time and place in reference to history.

Hey hon, how are ya!? Haven't seen you in ages! I read up a bit on this book online, and though I haven't read it, I can't really say that there's enough to go on to say John had sold his soul. I like his music and I think quite a bit of his music really had to do with peace and love. He was controversial and he had his own way of seeing things, but well, I can't believe that he sold himself out. I think sometimes things just happen for people, it's being in the right place at the right time. In the place where music was at that time, they just happened to be what it needed. Maybe there are famous people out there who sold their soul to get where they are, but I'm not so sure John Lennon was one of them....

Yea the past several times I been on you haven't. Hope everything is well there with you. Been going crazy for several weeks here but all is good, pays to stay busy. I put up a whole new design on the blog that includes a chat with a player for the show. We'll see if anyone makes it over for the show. I sure miss that.

Hello both, sorry to hijack this thread but didn't want to miss the opportunity of being able to say hi to two of my online favorites at once.. so, er, hi(!) Still haven't listened to the John Lennon episode as the last couple of shows have only just appeared on iTunes but am definitely looking forward to listening to it. One Saturday I'm determined to stay up late and join in with the chat - in the same way I hope one Monday to listen in live to the Relic Round Up on OHP radio (The price you pay for being a fan on the 'wrong' of The Pond,eh?! Anyway, hope you're both ok - hope to catch up in a chatroom near you soon (lol) all the best, David.
