Welcome to the site. When you say you are a skeptic what exactly do you mean? A lot of different people have a very different meaning on that term. What are your thoughts on some of these types of different topics.

Welcome postielinley. Always good to have a skeptic on board.
Since I got into paranormal investigating, I have become more of a skeptic than ever before. Instead of saying, "look an orb!" or "There's a fog in the picture, must be a ghost!" I look for every possible reason for the anomaly. And when I just can't figure it out, I find someone who is a photography expert to check it out; even send the picture and negative off to Kodak to see if they can figure it out. Even when I hear, sense, feel, and/or see things myself, I still question it.
I think that being on the skeptical side (with an open mind) would make a person a much better investigator.
That's a good question cottonzway, we don't all define words the same way.
For me, being skeptical means not taking all things for face value and for not always believing that something is true just because someone tells you that it is. Granted there are exceptions to every rule. If I know and trust the person giving me the information, then I don't have a reason for being skeptical. But whether you know the person or not, proof of something is always a good thing. >^o.o^<

Ah. what a lovely day it is here today. It's winter but it's nice and sunny. My skeptic views are just as Lidebcc describes. I listen to a lot of paranormal podcasts and have always been interested in this field with books and telly shows but i do look at things from outside the box, or try. I don't believe in ghosts or UFO's or God but that doesn't stop me from listening and absorbing peoples experiences. Who knows one day i may see or feel what others have. Aneanglesangel you need to come over. This is the laid back country. Get away from that funnny Government, sit on a beach with a tinnie (beer) and soak up the sun. Bumnuts are good! Might have some for dinner. ;D

Hi! I'm a skeptic from Australia, as well. (But I'm from Adelaide via Cambridge, Ma.)
I think it's safe to say that I'm an open-minded skeptic. I think it's best to be led by evidence and not dogma, and I think you guys on the show would probably agree!
Love the show. Keep up the good work!

Hi southaussie, Nice to meet ya! Being an open-minded skeptic is a good thing. I have noticed that since I have become a paranormal investigator, I have become more skeptical about a lot of things in life.

Hey southaussie!! It's great to have you with us! I have to admit, now that I've finally come back into the paranormal, yes I'm a skeptic, but not as much as I used to be. I'm letting things happen that I've never allowed before, and many of my experiments are having surprising results!! It's not that I don't want to be a skeptic, but if I don't allow myself to believe, the things I'm experimenting with won't happen! I do believe that having that having a strong science background is a good thing, it helps me to understand some of the things I'm experimenting with, but I still find that I have to also believe in psy-ence to help with some of the answers I'm seeking. It's also hard to admit that I'm one of those people that are sensitive. I grew up thinking people who spoke to spirits were either frauds, or crazy as hatters. If that's the truth, I'd be a fraud, or crazy as a hatter, LOL! I know I'm crazy, but I sure ain't a fraud, LOLOL!!
But besides all that, welcome aboard!! It's great to have you with us!! Do you like bumnuts, too??? LOL!!

Hey! I've never heard much about "bumnuts" down here. Is that eggs? I'll have to ask around about that. I've been down here three years, and that one hasn't come up yet.
As for the skeptic thing. I'm not a big fan of labels, you know? If you say you're a skeptic, then people are just going to think you are going to behave in a certain way, and that's no fun! So, maybe that's not the best thing. There are degrees of skepticism, I think. Probably best to be open-minded about everything. Let the evidence guide you and remain open-minded about the rest!
;D

Well said south!! Yup, bumnuts are eggs, LOL! I was learning from one of my mods! She's a cute kid! I will have to ask her when she gets back from her vacation where she's from, but it must not be near you if you've never heard of a bumnut before LOL! She also calls chickens chookies, which of course being the total fruitcake that I am, thought was really cute. I've taken to calling the chickens across the way chookies, LOL!! They are wicked sweet and one is an escape artist so I've caught her out in the road and brought her home! I know you're not supposed to have chickens in the city, but they love 'em, who can argue with that??

it is a bit colder in adelaide, melbourne, and sydney certainly than cities like brissie, darwin and alice springs. I think adelaide keeps a bit warmer than melbourne, and maybe a bit drier. But right now, the mornings are still pretty cold. It's weird, since I spent so long in Boston before moving here to call Australia cold, but it is! Maybe it's the insulation (or lack thereof) in the houses or something. who knows!
And, oh yeah, we do still here "chook" quite a bit, but I think the slang here is probably slowly going away and becoming more "americanised". like people might not be using "bin" for "garbage can" and stuff like that as much as they used to. like people saying "fries" instad of "chips" or "mom" instead of "mum". or so people say!
