I have just listened to the podcast of the show that we did in Tim's backyard before we post it here. I know now that its not that is probably not a good idea to slowly get hammered as you record a show. ( then again, it does make some funny listening) I think that most of the people that will hear it should get a very good laugh at what we did put on the show. Allot of that night did not make it on the podcast, but what we did get in was a hoot. The silent assassin wasn't so silent for a change. In fact at some points we couldn't get him to shut up, like after he got a "booty call" from a young lady even more loaded then us that we did not include in the podcast, but was one of the funnest points of the night. Tim shares some things from his childhood that lead him to what we do now. We poke fun at ourselves, the show and each other, and shows we can and do take ourselves less than serious at times. I had fun doing it as did my partners in crime. (and this podcast should be thought of as criminal) In short we just had fun and we will take the rest of you along for the ride. It is kinda raw, and you may wish to think about it before letting really young kids listen. We hope you all will have as much fun listening to it as we did recording it. ( it's not your grandmothers spooky southcoast kinda show) Maybe some day you will get to hear what didn't make it on the show. Thanks to everyone for being spooky southcoast listeners, we do it for all of you.

I'd like to second what Matt said. Even if nobody enjoys it, we enjoyed making it, and I think it was a good bonding experience for the Spooky Crew.
We'd absolutely LOVE some feedback on what you think of "Spooky Southcoast: Off the Air."

I just got home and was the DD tonight so I decided to have a few now while listening to you guys drink. So while I didn't drink any while out for a whole day at a concert I get to drink now. Regardless what anyone thinks this is a lot of fun for you guys as well as other. It's important to have fun and clown around. I hope you guys enjoyed yourself too. I'll keep listening and have a few!

Oye boys I won't be in a rush to download that show. LOL If I wanted hear people get drunk and joke around I'd go to the local Pub... I thought this was a paranormal show. I guess I am listening to the wrong show thats OK theres many other radio stations across the country doing the same thing. I have plenty of other choices for paranormal discussions. Bond at a club somewhere instead of on on the air, off the air, he he that can't be to good for a journalist, scientist etc... careers. don't think I'll be around here much longer Clara See Ya'll on the other side

Well Clara, if thats the way you feel then far be it from us to try to stop you. We did this podcast as a way to show people that we regular people just like everyone else. As far as other stations doing the same type of shows as us, let me let you in on a little secret. They all do the same thing off the air as we did, and we know most of the hosts of these shows because we talk to each other off the air and share contacts and stories with each other. Our aim was to show we are real, and that we take the subject seriously.....not ourselves. If you wish to think that this kinda of thing doesn't go on with the other shows, far be it from me to shatter that delusion for you. I almost never drink, and haven't for close to 17 years or more, I only have a few when I feel very very comfortable with the people I am with and that is takes years for me to get to that point of knowing those people. I had a bad drinking problem years ago, and stopped drinking because it was ruining my life. I felt comfortable enough to" let lose" as it be, with my co-hosts because I did feel close enough to them that I could let my guard down and relax, and that should tell you something about the bond and dedication we have to each other and the subject. It took a lot for me to trust them and feel it was OK for me to "have a few" without worrying about if I was going to lose control as I would do when I was younger. I will most likely not drink again for a long time, as my own choice to do so, not because some little piss-ant doesn't like the idea of me doing it. So get off your high horse and hit the bricks and don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out if you can't accept that we are REAL people with REAL things to say about the subject. This podcast was about us as REAL people, not the phony persona's that are what most of the other shows really are. (please note that these are my feelings and are not the opinions of spooky southcoast)

I listened to the whole show and at first I thought it was just good old "drunk" fun (and I thought that was entertaining) but you guys started to get into some good stuff as well. I wasn't even expecting that because I took this as a fun way for you guys to have fun so any paranormal talk was kinda bonus. It turned out to be your BEST show IMO. I suggested a while ago that the three of you guys share a little about yourself because I think it would lead to a better understanding of what got you into the field and it was really interesting to hear that. So anyone who thinks the this show doesn't have anything to the paranormal is sadly mistaken.
If someone seriously would not listen to the show going forward after this they SERIOUSLY need to relax and stop taking themselves in such a serious manner. I'm being as polite as I can in trying that too. If you take life that serious that you find something wrong with 3 adult males having fun on a Saturday night then I honestly feel bad for you. Boys will be boys.
It was a GREAT show guys, regardless if a few others think otherwise.

Wow!! I'm very surprised cj!! They could have taken the night off because of the Patriots' Pre-season games, but they chose to do an off the air show. I think that just goes to show how dedicated to their listeners they really are! Now I've only gotten to listen to half the show, darn jell-o shot girlz, but from what I've heard of it, very interesting whether they're drunk n funny, or not!! So far I've heard Matt Moniz's first paranormal experience, and must say, it was quite interesting! I've also heard other paranormal radio shows, and I'm sorry, but Spooky is the best one I've heard so far! I admit, it took them a couple shows to get the hang of it, but now they're really rolling! If they keep getting better as they've been doing, I see big things in the future for Spooky!!
I'm off to listen to the rest of the show! I hope that some realize what this podcast means to the Spooky fans!! It means that instead of having a day off, they shared with the world, their own experiences, and a bit of themselves!! It's not every day celebritites open their home to the public. And in my eyes, that's just what they've done!!!

Well, Clara, first off...there's a difference between having a few drinks and getting "drunk." I myself had one shot and a half a beer, and I would hardly consider that "drunk," I don't know how much the two Matts drank, because I felt I didn't need to monitor them....the conversation (much of it about the paranormal) flowed freely, and intelligently, so it was my assumption that both were well under control.
Do you have no respect for a journalist/scientist/etc that is willing to let down his guard, let his hair down, say he doesn't take himself too seriously, and has a few drinks? Or do you prefer the radio and television personalities who drink and then go on the air WITHOUT telling you that they've had a couple of pops? Believe me, there are plenty, and in my business I even know a few.
I would never have put this show out there if I felt it would damage any of our credibility...in fact, I hope it would increase our credibilty with the listeners, to let them know we are just real people having paranormal experiences. Not everyone has, and I thought this was a good way to show people that it does happen to anyone.
If you feel you need to make another choice in what you listen to, I first ask you this: were you only listening to one show to begin with? If so, I would question your approach to learning more about the paranormal, because you're only getting one viewpoint and one side of things. There are so many great shows out there--Ghostly Talk, Darkness on the Edge of Town Radio, Speaking of Strange, Night Watch, etc--that you can listen to, you should listen to as many as you can to help formulate opinions and theories.
I say this to you, not as a means of criticizing, but as a suggestion from an avid talk radio listener (for example, I can't let my sports talk jones be dominated by WEEI, I need more balanced views so I listen to other local and national commentary as well). If you want us to maintain the composure of a Walter Cronkite or an Edward R. Murrow throughout each show, I believe you have the wrong hosts. And have you listened to our previous programs? We weren't exactly 100 percent serious throughout those, either. We're goofy guys, and it's shown through all along. I don't think this show is any less or any more of that.
I wish you well in your search for answers...but I also offer the old adage, never judge a book by its cover. Sometimes a nugget of gold is found deep inside a dirty boulder.
Stay spook-tacular!

I also think it is fair to point out that my comments were also in part to CJ not even listening to the show and coming up with the conclusion of not wanting to listen to the show going forward. That is probably not the way to make an educaited opinion of something. Shouldn't a person listen for themslves first before even making a decision? That would be like calling a picture of a ghost someone posted "fake" and never even seeing the image themselves.

Oh...Deb...."podcast" is just a term for a web-only show, one that doesn't air on the radio. You don't need an iPod to listen to a podcast..I listen to them all day long, either on my computer or on my mp3 player I bought for $50 at CVS.
But the show is still up on the blog, just as it always is, the way you usually listen. See, we wouldn't forget about you! And once you have your DSL back, if you want to listen to any podcast, just right click on the name of it, select "Save Target As," and you can save it right to your computer, listen to it on your computer's media player, and then delete it or save it when you're done!
Let me know if you need any help. I plan on getting an iPod soon, just for the sheer memory capacity of it, but you don't actually need one to enjoy the many great podcasts out there!

Lildeb, you don't need an i-pod to listen to the podcasts! You can play it right off the blog on the main Spooky page. There's a little button that says, I think, "play audioblog" and click on that and it plays off the webpage. Kstornado11 from Spirited Society has dial-up and she can listen, so I'm sure you can, too!!
